Share Exchange

Witan Wealthbuilder allows you to exchange any unwanted or underperforming shares for shares in either Witan or Witan Pacific. We accept allequities, gilts and fixed interest securities listed on the London Stock Exchange.

All dealing charges will be waived by Witan Wealthbuilder for selling unwanted shares and reinvesting the proceeds. Please note that there is 0.5% Government Stamp Duty on all purchases.

Please also note that in order to exchange shares you have to sell shares. The sale of securities through the Service will constitute a disposal for capital gains tax purposes. Witan is not able to offer tax advice to individuals. Should you have any questions regarding your tax position, it is recommended that you consult a professional adviser.

How does it work?

Witan has teamed up with Stocktrade, an Edinburgh based stockbroker, who will sell your shares on your behalf. Once the trade has settled the sale proceeds will be transferred to Witan Wealthbuilder, a share plan account will be opened (if you haven’t already got one) and the cash reinvested in accordance with your instructions.

How do I apply?

You can either download the Share Exchange Literature by clicking. Please open all three documents as they contain important information about the terms of the service as well as the application form. Please note you also have to complete a Share Plan application form even if you already have a Witan Wealthbuilder account. If you already have a Witan Wealthbuilder account don’t forget to include your existing account number on the front of the Share Plan form. The proceeds will be reinvested in your existing account.
